How to become a Christian
If you want to accept Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for you, there are various accepted ways to become a Christian, that is, to accept Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for you. However different Christian groups believe different things. Some believe that repentance is necessary whilst others don't (or believe that repentance in this context simply means to accept Jesus's sacrifice). Some believe that baptism is necessary whilst others don't. Some believe that baptism should be full immersion, whilst others believe that sprinkling water on a baby's head followed by confirmation when older is the thing to do. Some believe the 'sinner's prayer' is the thing to do. So each believer should satisfy themselves as to what they believe.
Repentance
Baptism (Full immersion)
However one saved person may not have been baptised:-
Sinner's prayer (Biblical version)
Sinner's prayer (A modern version)
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen.
Baptism (Sprinkling) as a baby followed by confirmation when older.
This wasn't practiced in New Testament times, but was introduced by churches later on. It may involve a priest sprinkling water on a baby's head, then (when the child is older) he/she can confirm that decision to a priest.
